Client Onboarding and Launch
Objective: To successfully migrate the site from the staging environment to the live domain and empower the client to manage their new digital asset.
Step 1: Technical Pre-Flight Verification
Action: Lead Dev performs a final "Safety Check" before domain pointing.
Task:
Verify that the "Test Mode" on payment gateways is turned OFF.
Ensure the "Search Engine Visibility" setting is enabled (Shopify/Odoo) to allow indexing.
Confirm all "Staging Links" have been replaced with the "Live Domain" URLs.
Step 2: Domain Pointing & SSL Configuration
Action: Lead Dev executes the domain DNS updates.
Task:
Follow the Link to Internal Domain Pointing Tutorial in the OneVector Knowledgebase.
Verify SSL certificate propagation to ensure the "Security Padlock" is active on the live URL.
Step 3: Post-Live Smoke Test
Action: Lead Dev verifies the site's integrity on the "Live" URL.
Task:
Click through the main navigation and perform a "Live" lead form submission.
Check site speed on the live domain to ensure DNS settings haven't introduced latency.
The Proof: MD records a 60-second "Site is Live" Loom for the client, showing the site functioning on the actual domain.
Step 4: Client Onboarding & Training Session
Action: Jv leads the high-touch "Growth" session (Online or In-Person).
Task:
Walk the client through the Jobs-to-be-Done (e.g., "How to process an order," "How to update a product price," "How to view sales reports").
Review the Success Metrics defined in Phase 01 to prove the project delivered on its promise.
Strategic Tip: Record this session. It becomes a permanent training asset for the client, reducing future support tickets.
Step 6: Project Closure & Handover
Action: MD finalizes the administrative wrap-up.
Task:
Deliver the "Handover Document" which includes login instructions and support protocols.
Move the Odoo Project Task to "Completed/Archive."
Task: Schedule a 30-day "Success Check-in" call to discuss the next phase of the client's business growth.
